December remembrances

Current temp: 39° F | High/Low: 43°/33°

Overall, a pretty dry month here marked by several days with dense, lingering fog. While the rainfall for Portland suggests higher-than-average precipitation (15.56” so far compared to the average 5.49”), we haven’t seen as much of it here on the SW bluffs, I’m sure. Or maybe it’s that so much of it has been tied to the atmospheric rivers that when it drizzles, spizzles, and mizzles, I just don’t notice it as much?

Here are a few snaps to capture some of my favorite plantsy happenings this month.

Naturally, gardening activities have moved inside with all the garland and wreath-making. I also indulged in a dozen or so Paperwhites, a new Amaryliss (the old one didn’t make it, got too soft), and even a lovely pink Pointsettia for the mantle. I picked up a dark pink Cyclamen for a little color and bloom in S’s room, as well.

One of the things I hope I pass onto her is a love for plants, flowers, and gardening.
