Weeping Daffodils

It snowed this morning. Ryan woke me up to tell me the “news.” As I groaned and started muttering a litany of  curses, he calmly kissed me on the forehead and said, “Welcome to Colorado.” He’s lived here all his life. This kind of weather epitomizes Spring. And, yes, as everyone will attest, we need the moisture. But, I can’t deny it. I feel let down. It is hard to reconcile with these kinds of weather events, to unlearn and re-learn what Spring is and let go of my feelings about what it “should” be.

Spoken like a true mid-westerner. And with global climate change, weather is even more unpredictable than ever.
