I like these. The hose is my favorite, although I also took a picture like the top one. In many of your photos, you keep a tight focus, leaving much blurry, in shadow. You zero in on a specific spot instead of letting the viewer wander around. (That’s neither good nor bad. Just an observation.)
I think (right now at least) I like taking photos that are like poems, rather than novels. That’s the best analogy I can make in terms that make sense to you, Ryan.
And I’m really thinking about ways to simplify, streamline, systematize and focus my life. The focus is often on the things I think I value–as objects, symbols and experiences. Maybe my photos are starting to reflect that. …All that talk of aesthetics this morning. I feel like this discussion might be at the crux of our different perspectives.
