Meet Panayoti Keladis, Senior Curator at the Denver Botanic Gardens

I ran into the print version of this story by accident yesterday while I was packing teacups. Of course, I had to shift my priorities, stop packing and read through it.

Panayoti Keladis is the Senior Curator and Director of Outreach at the Denver Botanic Gardens. I’ve encountered him at events and he is always jazzed about plants, jazzed about plant lovers, jazzed about his work and jazzed about the Denver Botanic Gardens and gardening in our region. As I read the article, I was surprised to learn he does not have a formal background in horticulture or botany, but in ancient Chinese language and literature. One more reason why I’d love to be seated next to him at a dinner party!

Despite the awful (trite) headline, the article itself is a colorful, interesting read and mini-biography on Keladis, whom Lauren Springer Ogden calls, “a demi-god.”
