I’m Alexa B. Johnson. I call this site Invisible Bees after a poem by Denise Levertov. In “Second Didactic Poem” she writes,
The honey of man is
the task we’re set to: to be
‘more ourselves’
in the making: ‘bees of the invisible’ working
in cells of flesh and psyche…
For the curious, I’m a first-born child and nearly recovered Type-A New Yorker who moved to Colorado in 2006 because my brother’s ghost came to me in a dream and said, quite plainly, “Fort Collins is your destiny.” Of course, I up and moved (wouldn’t you?). Three months later, I met my husband, Ryan, a Fort Collins native. Now, five years later, we share our lives with our beautiful little girl, two computers and a Beta fish. I earn my keep as a go-to Brand Architect and Story Savant for creative agencies and private clients in Northern Colorado.
If you’re interested, I also update my Tumblr blog, a meditation and memory project, every day.
You can send me a note or invite me to tea via Alexa@InvisibleBees.com.
