A different kind of red rose

I adore rose foliage. Almost as much as the scented rose buds themselves. There is something both dainty and strong about them, with delicate yet serrated/cutting edges. I think they’re like a little hint about the true nature of a rose. Pay attention to me, it sings. Like a great vocal jazz performance, hidden within the the pretty appearances and sensory delights are some painful thorns.
